Getting here
We love our Shepherd’s Hut location near Truro in Cornwall. We’re in the heart of the county, equal distance to the north and south coasts, with easy access to lots of places, usually by car.
We’re circa 10 minutes from the A30, meaning it’s easy to head further west to the famous tourist destinations of St Ives and Lands End.
Better yet, being close to both coasts means you can check the webcams for Newquay and St Mawes in the morning to find the best of the weather.
To see our exact spot use our what3words address nuzzling.hires.butter to find us.
By Car
Most of our lovely guests arrive from the east / from ‘Up North’ (everything beyond Plymouth is up north for us Cornish folk).
Head west along the A30 until the Fraddon/Indian Queens junction. Follow the signs for Ladock/Truro. 20 minutes after exiting the A30, you will reach Tresillian. Drive over the bridge and take the first right by the play park. Follow the country road for 1 mile. At the top of the hill, on your first left you will find our hidden away Shepherd’s Hut.
Plane/Bus/Train/Other?!
Cornwall isn’t best known for its public transport, and instead for its twisty and narrow country lanes. But it is possible to reach us without too much trouble via other methods.
Truro (aka The City) is 10 minutes away in a taxi where you can find the bus and train stations. The train is a mainline route on the Great Western Railway to London. A taxi from Truro is circa £20.
Once in situ, we’re 1 mile from the bus stop in Tresillian (a 25 min walk) with good routes into Truro.
We’re also more than happy to discuss any arrangements to land by helicopter.

When trying to explain what makes our Shepherd’s Hut so unique, sometimes words alone can’t do them justice. That’s why we’ve created ‘Virtual Experience’, a 360˚ online tour of the space. So you can get a feel for the place, all from the comfort of your desk.

-
We love our location here. The route here from the A30 often takes you via the country lanes and you’ll feel a million miles away in the middle of nowhere. However, to be honest, Truro (the only City in Cornwall) is 10 minutes away by car and we’re 1 mile from the village of Tresillian.
For food and drinks, there are a few supermarkets to choose from in Truro, with Waitrose closest.
We’re equal distance to both the South and North Coast which means you can pick your adventure each morning based on the weather (it can be completely different on each coast!)
We have lots more information on our ‘Location’ page.

The Hut has a fully plumbed in en suite shower room with sink and toilet.
The best bit - it’s fully private so no need to go wandering around at night to find a shared facility. Phew!
